About Me

img_3011-1img_6500Hey y’all!

Ekama here. I originally started this blog as a tool to update the universe of during my year serving as a PC(USA) Young Adult Volunteer in Glasgow, Scotland, working in partnership with the Church of Scotland on their Priority ¬†Areas Team. But I’ve served my sentence and I think I’ll keep updating it so here goes…

I currently call Denton, TX home where I live with little brother and parents. I also have a twin sister who kickin’ ass in our state’s capital in the world of political comms. I am a University of North Texas alum (GO MEAN GREEN) with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Counseling. Denton is also where I find my supportive church family, the fine folks at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

I’m excited that you’re here. I want this blog to be an extension of my experiences. As you read, I want it to feel like I’m telling a story. There shall be many pop-culture, political, and musical references. On that note, along with my words and pictures, I hope to add an 8-10 song playlist to every post. Music is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I was a violinist for 12 years and alongside that, music has always played an important role in my life. My mini-mixes might sometimes be themed, but I’m hoping they include tunes of past and present as an accompaniment to the mood of a post, season or situation.

Ekama, the hornets of the Lord will go before you and clear the path for you perpetually. Jehovah Shama will empower you with a sense of the best judgement and like the children of Issachar, you will discern the times and with great grace do exploits in God’s Kingdom business. Go with the Lord.

As parish minister at Colston Milton Parish Church, in the North of Glasgow, I am really excited that you are coming to join us for the best part of a year. We love music too – so please bring your violin if you have space!
